At present, we can find the following window offers:

- The passive quad-glass window
It has a heat transfer coefficient of Uw = 0.55 W / (m2K). This is an extraordinary parameter concerning the entire window: the frame with the wing and dome. Use of this glazing ensures energy efficiency and lowers heating cost during the cold days.

- The Flat Roof Window, also called Secure
It is standardly equipped with a burglary-proof safety glass. In case of glass breakage, the shards will not shatter, but will remain on the foil. The glazing and innovative dome assembly system, which makes it difficult to disassemble, increases the burglary resistance. The dome is made of polycarbonate. It is highly resistant to impact and to atmospheric influences (rain, hail). Special coating on the outer and inner surfaces protects against UV rays. It is designed for roofs with a slope of 0-15 °.

Window construction allows installation of internal and external accessories. Thanks to the profile system, the awning can be mounted under the skylights, which protects it from damage caused by, for example, strong wind.

A new look at the energy function of the windows
Windows are suitable for various climate zones because they do not only solve winter heat loss, but also summer heat gains, which can be very unpleasant in the attic. This implies that:

1. The roof windows leak largely the insolation and warm air into the interior. Due to the energy intensity of this radiation, the roof windows can have a positive winter energy balance and more heat can be delivered to the building than they leak out.

2. The roof (but also the window surface) is heated under the solar radiation. This, in the worst case, will reduce its heat loss. When the roof gets warmer (above the internal temperature), it begins to heat the interior.

3. From the point of view of the energy efficiency of the windows and their influence on indoor thermal comfort. It is not so significant in winter but in summer, when the roof absorbs over about 17 GWh of energy and warms up the interior.

To get some fresh outdoor air into your home is important for your health

Fresh outdoor air contains 400 ppmv (parts per million volume) of CO2 (carbon dioxide). Humans and animals exhale the same gas at the same time in amount that depends on their physical activity. In rooms that are not sufficiently ventilated, this gas accumulates and causes what we can call the stuffy air. Staying in such rooms can lead to many health problems - from fatigue and drowsiness to irreversible damage of your health.  Content of the CO2 for feeling of the fresh air is up to 700 ppmv. Values above 1000 ppmv are less suitable for permanent residence and sleeping (eg in the apartment), above 1500 ppmv is unsuitable.
